Rick Carlisle is the front-runner to replace Avery Johnson as coach of the Dallas Mavericks.

Sources told TXA21 & CBS11 Sports that Carlisle met with Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban and forward Dirk Nowitzki on Friday. Multiple sources said that they think the deal is "done" and would be shocked if a deal with Carlisle does not happen.

Carlisle -- a former NBA coach of the year who had successful stints in Detroit and Indianapolis -- is the only serious candidate the team has interviewed since firing Johnson on Wednesday. Talks also continued Saturday. Read more
