Fletcher and Berra get Scots call

George Burley has called up uncapped pair Steven Fletcher and Christophe Berra in his first Scotland squad.

The Scotland boss has also rested Rangers defender David Weir for the friendly against Croatia at Hampden on March 26.

Hibernian striker Fletcher, who will be 21 on the day of the game, and 23-year-old Hearts defender Berra had been tipped for their first call-ups.

Weir had also been expected to miss out amid a punishing schedule for Rangers, with Burley claiming before this afternoon's press conference that it would not signal the end of the 37-year-old's international career. Read more
